First ride

Bought this and had let the kids ride around indoor. I don't really agree of having the tricycle rided indoor. I mean how far can the kids go??! Being a clean and tidy Hub, he bu she de the wheels get damaged by the rough surface on the road. Then what is the point of buying it siah...

So finally I insisted to have it rided outdoor around the estate. Jewel was so excited!

I am gonna arrange more outdoor activities for the kids. Get them to have some exercise for a healthier body.

Date with Teletubbies

Had a fun time bringing the kids to meet Teletubbies at Plaza Singapura. It wasn't jam packed with kids as I had imagined. If it was some K POP boy band I bet I can't even enter the carpark.

Being a protective mommy, I was afraid the loud sound from the speakers might frighten the kids, therefore I had them at the 2nd level with a panoramic view.

Overall the kids behaved well. No whining or begging me to stay for the 2nd performance.

Thumbs Up for today!

Hello!

It has been a long while...Many things happened for the past 1 month plus. Company changed, people changed, enviroment changed...Decision has to be made again. Drained from all the discussions and negotiations. On the positive side, I know how much I am worthed. Haha!

Thankfully Hub was on leave and it helps to relief my stressful mental mood. In any cases, he finds it unnecesarry for the stress and there is nothing to get stressed over. Hub is always anytime, ever ready, always welcome for a SAHM.

Stir Fry Loofah with Egg

Dinner was delicious yesterday! * at least for me I feels so*  Grilled pork was marinated overnight which means all the sauces had seeped through the meat. Loves my dressing for the fried fish and loofah was cooked with enough taste. Just the right amount of saltiness.

Dinner Menu
  •  Grilled Pork
  • Fried Fish with Thai Sweet & Sour Sauce
  • Loofah with Egg

Stir Fry Loofah with Egg

Ingredients;

1 Loofah
3 Eggs
1 teaspoon light soya sauce
2 Cloves Garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 Tbs Fish sauce
1 Tbs sesame oil

Steps;

  1. Skin off the loofah, slice half and scrap away the seeds. Cut it into small slices.
  2. Beat the eggs and add the light soya sauce.
  3. In a wok, heat up oil and stir fry garlic till fragrant.
  4. Add the loofah and stir fry till it is soft, very soft.
  5. Add the beaten eggs and stir fry.
  6. Add salt, fish sauce and sesame oil.
  7. Cook till the eggs are done.
  8. Serve in a plate.

It is normal to have alot of water cooking loofah so do not be shocked to see so much water.

Halloween 2013

Halloween at my estate was impressive. For the ang mohs, it is the 2nd biggest event of the year, 1st being Christmas. Didn't dress up Jewel. Blame it on the lazy Mommy. Haha.

Seriously packed with people.

Does it look like the crowd at Chinatown Town during CNY?
The road was closed from 6pm to 8pm for residents to walk around getting trick or treat.

Scary not?
It was entertaining seeing all the costumes and decor done up in each different houses. I shall make it a point and HAVE THE EFFORT to join in the fun next year!

One Day Tour to JB

Bro made plans to go in to JB to view a project that he was doing. So Mommy and I tagged along to kpo and also to do some feasting and shopping.

Emo Boy
Because he wants to ko.

Didn't transfer the child seat to bro's car cos we reckon he will refuse to sit on it. Yes…it is dangerous but his cries are terrible max.

Newly built terrace houses at Bukit Indah area. The whole estate is fenced up and it has a guard house with security guards screening all cars that is going in. Kids are able to wander around the estate freely without the parents worrying.

Happily sitting in the trolley and nearly refused to get out.

Splashing Saturday

Finally had the chance to bring the kids out for a swim to enjoy water activity. So interesting to see them in their swim wear.

Excited Ian

Skinny Babe

Monkey Face
Had great fun at the pool with them. No photos taken while they were at the pool because both me and Hub were busy playing with the kids and totally forgot about snapping pictures. Next activity for next weekend will be going to the beach! Yeah!

Hormonel Change

Itchy scalp, dandruff, acne problem, unusual oily complexion….it all started after I stopped breastfeeding. What irks me is my acne problem. People who knows me are aware that I am very particular over my complexion. In a way, my work requires me to be pleasant looking.

So….I was desperately looking for an experienced dermatologist. I had nearly went for an aesthetic doctor but Hub said dermatologist will be more appropriate for my dire situation. *kua zhang*

It cost me a bomb! Was mentally prepared for it anyway so when the doctor told me about the 'package' price, I was like so cool telling her," Ok. I'll take it."

Hope it helps! *cross fingers*

I Am Back From….

Didn't have time to blog for the past 2 weeks. Hub was hospitalised due to dengue fever….then when Hub had recovered, Jewel vomit several times and then…..the puking prince Ian started his puking sessions again….Indeed I had too much virus surrounding me that I lost to it too.

Was at the clinic with Ian and saw this.

I reckon this baby is about 2-3 months old. At this stage, baby's skull is still very soft. Having a headband round their head, in my personal opinion is not advisable. Not to say, the headband was a TIGHT one! You can't tell from the picture but it is VERY TIGHT actually. All parents love to dress up their children but please la, put their physique and health in priority first can?

Can you see if there is anything wrong with this picture????? I was so so speechless. At first I thought the baby's legs was injured or something and got bandaged. Then after I realized it was a baby carrier lookalike. And this baby carrier, seems to be making the baby unable to close her legs!! I was feeling extremely uncomfortable at this sight!!!! You can see from the 1st picture that the Mommy was making things worse by stretching her baby's legs wider while carrying her. What the hell is she thinking???? I wanted so much to talk to the Mommy but my Mommy told me not to be Kpo.

The whole while at the clinic, I sat with my legs tightly crossed. I felt very sng for the baby. The impulsive me nearly wanted to go ask the Mommy if she is fine having her own legs positioned wide opened for the whole day like what she is doing for her baby.

Can't stand this kind of parent……………..

Record Breaking

Time now is 12am. Ian managed to played till now and finally call it a day! I am hoping that he wakes up at 10am later. Mommy is not an early riser so pls pls don't wake up too early ok…

Boys being boys….Ian is getting very active ever since he is able to walk. Walking around the room, walk and walk. I think he had lost some weight after being so mobile.

Where has my chubby boy gone to? Having the urge to buy Pediasure for him. But Hub don't really favour, citing reasons that the nutrients is not as good as normal formula milk. What and how can I beef up my son??

Sesame Oil Chicken 麻油雞

Do you know that woman has 2 chances in their lifetime to 'change' their body health? Bet you are unaware. The 1st chance is during the puberty period and the next is during the confinement period. Many women that I come across often experiencing cold hands and feet and they tends to feel cold easily. My body condition was like that before I gave birth. Back then I often told my friends that if there is a choice, I would rather get hot to death. LOL.

For both of my confinement, I drank the red date with longan water 24/7 for 30 days. No plain and cold water at all. My longan water was a super power tonic water. It wasn't just any longan and red date water, it was with alot more herbs! My confinement food was with alot of ginger, sesame oil and chicken essence. My intake for the herbs was so much that SIL said I was super overloaded with them and was afraid that my nose might bleed anytime! Haha.

All those made a huge difference in my health.  I WASN'T AFRAID OF COLD ANYMORE! I don't need to cover myself with blanket when I sleep in the air con room. When everyone complain it is cold,  I said it is cooling. Amazing! My colleagues saw the difference in me and said that next time they sure to look for me when they are having their confinement.

No title

Ian just got turned in to bed. These days he has been sleeping late, which makes me too tired to blog after I managed to get him to sleep. Which also means he is getting up later as well! * Mixed feelings* Dunno is it because Mommy is too fun to play with, making him not wanting to end his day at the usual timing of 9pm. Hee hee.

No mood to blog much today… too much things made me so mad. ARGHHH….Gotta stop myself from thinking all those nonsense stuff that are wasting my energy. Some people tends to find comfort from eating when they are angry, some needs retail therapy, some took it off by sleeping, some exercise, some go drinking,…..so how do I vent it off? But I don't have any avenues…. I just get mad and mad at it. Unhealthy…. Just hope tomorrow I will better. Gd night….

Tau Yiu Bak / Dark Soya Sauce Pork

The end result

Looks gross anot? Believe me…it tastes AWESOME!!!! I am so thankful that my friend had invited me over for dinner at his mum's place one day and let me had the chance to taste this super nice Tau Yiu Bak. And that was 2 years back. The taste of this dish remains vividly in my mind. So one day I decided to try to cook it.

Asking for the Chef for recipe.

His wife, also my friend, told me the secret lies in the soya sauce that is used. I got her to snap a pic to me. Good stuff doesn't come cheap.

Look at how enthu is my friend. Purposely setup a group chat using What's App, with the topic, Tau Yiu Bak, adding me him, his wife ( also my friend) and his mommy aka The Chef.

I am so grateful for this wonderful recipe. Everyone loves it…. I reckon it myself. Hahaha. At least SIL and my uncle said it is very very delicious ok….. Disclaimer: Hub not at home for dinner. Bro on a vegetarian diet for a week to redeem his sins kekeke for some spiritual reasons.

Imagine you are drinking lemon juice now……….is your mouth producing alot of saliva now? This is what's happening to me now, salivating as I type this entry……..*Slurp Slurp*

When Cough Mixture Is Not Working for Your Kid….

Could it be the milk powder which is too sweet or the biscuits that has been causing the phlegm in the kids? I don't give Jewel soft drinks at all not to say Ian but both of them always have alot of phlegm  which makes them cough. And now the cough mixture doesn't seems to take much effect on them.

Recently, Jewel has alot of mucus in her nose and when it reaches night time, the mucus may have flowed backwards to her lungs which caused her to cough and which means the solution is not to find the right cough mixture but to get medications to dissolve her phlegm.

And for unknown reason, at sleeping time, I can hear Ian's airway getting stuck with the phlegm sound.

SO WHAT DID I DO?

Love it when she smiles until like that

Feeling comfortable

Small and compact

The medicine

The usual cry baby

So relaxing till fell asleep

I bought this nebeulizer to get the phlegm out from their lungs. How is it done? A nebulizer changes liquid medicine into mist and the person has to inhale the mist through the mask. This medicine opens up the airway which is congested with phlegm and the phlegm will drop from the lungs to the intestines and passed out from their poo poo (layman term). Nebulizing actually makes the body comfortable and relax as the airway is loosen up.

Many parents are worried that the kids might get addicted to the nebeulizer and that oral medications may be immune to them. IT WILL NOT. The medications for the nebulizer have to be prescribed by doctors and cannot be bought over the shelf from the pharmacist so you can be assured by the doctor. Clinics do rent out the machine at around $10/day. I had rented before for 2 weeks for Ian and in the end I went and buy 1 myself as I guess it is more worth it. Cost me less than $200.

I strongly encourage parents to let the kids use the neubulizer if they have alot of phlegm/ congested lungs. Delay in treatment may result them in developing bronchitis. You may check with your family doctor with what I said.
